ranch proprietor at Shih Chio Hsü, and resold by him.
"Yu A-wei and the others, on being closely questioned
affienied complicity with the robbers, or having sold property
knowing the same to have been stolen. I have imprisoned them
pending the appearance of the proprietors of the Tề Tai and
other shops mentioned in the evidence, whom I have requested
the Ching Yuan Hsien to arrest. When they appear, I shall
question them closely as to the antecedents of the stolen
cattle, which I am endeavouring to recover. I have offered
